How to Play Roulette
In this game, you play against a house through betting on colored
numbers on a rotating wheel. A croupier represents the casino, who is
also famous as banker or dealer. The croupier spins the wheel of
Roulette handling all the payouts and wagers. After placing the bets,
the dealer spins a tiny white ball opposite the turning wheel. As soon
as the ball rests on the wheel in any one slot, the dealer calls out the
winning number. The dealer then resolves all the bets. For playing
Roulette, you need to predict the landing slot of the ball after the
croupier spins the ball.
The Roulette wheel has 38 or 37 slots that have the numbers 1 to 36,
double zero and zero. You may find double zero on the American version
of this game. Even numbers are of red color and odd numbers are of black
color. The double zero and zero sections are green in color.
At a time, around six to eight players gather at the Roulette table. You
get a color chip on which you may place the bet. After putting down the
money initially, the croupier offers you corresponding chip numbers.
Every colored chip indicates a betting unit or type in this game. On
winning, the croupier offers you colored chips, so that you encash them
and move on with your winnings.
If you plan to place a direct bet on any number, you need not have a
color from the croupier. However, it is better to put the cash or house
chips down the layout. On winning, the reward comes in the form of
casino chips, which you may cash. You may place your bets on inside bets
of Roulette game.
As you go on playing, check for any recent bet. For example, on a $1
table, you need to play minimum $2. For playing both inside and outside
bets, place $1 inside and $1 outside. For betting on Red and Even, bet
$1.
On Roulette table, place your bet before the wheel is spun. After this,
the croupier spins the ball. Here, the croupier does not call for any
bets. However, he/she waives across the Roulette table. You are not
allowed to touch the bet, as it may irritate the croupier.
After the ball rests on any number, the dealer places a plastic marker
on the number you have won. The dealer then collects the losing bets and
arranges for paying out the winning bets. Before you pick up your
winnings, wait until the croupier withdraws the marker.
